Donyelle Jones: An Inspiration

Extreme Donyelle Worry :(

Here's a segment from the foxboards on the show in Waterbury, CT:

Last night at the Waterbury show during You Can't Stop the Beat she started looking really bad at the end like she was gonna pass out. Then Benji was like holding her up and when she went offstage before the finale I could see her colapse. She never came out when her name was called and then Jessica came on. She also wasn't outside at the busses after.

Then, Cait from the IDF thread reported:

So yes, tis the truth that Donny didn't make it to the B-way encore. I'd say towards the very, very end of the Hairspray routine (like, right after the little blowing-a-kiss part), she got a weird look on her face. I can't even describe it to you.. it looked like she was trying to smile, but not doing a very good job. Her moves were a bit off, and she put very little 'oomph' into the part where they look like they're out of breath. After it was finished, she kinda stumbled a bit into the hug that Benji gave her, and then she shuffled off stage kinda slowly. The best word to describe how she looked was disoriented. I'm not sure if it was pain, but I think it looked more like she got dizzy/lightheaded all of a sudden. My eyes were glued to her, but I could only see her until a certain point, and she was still walking at that point. So I dunno. But yeah, she didn't come out when they called her, and then wasn't there for the encore. And no meet & greet either.

We did ask Marf and Benji about her though... Marf said "I think she's gonna be OK," and Benji said something similar. So *fingers crossed* that she's really alright and that she can be in the show tonight. It would suck if she wasn't in the last show.

However, she did do all of her other dances, except Ramalama. Which, now that I think about it, she's been absent from for a while... they might've just permanently replaced her with Jess for that one. But she did Disco! Which made me happy, cause she didn't do that at my venue.

Here's a photo of Donyelle hugging Benji after the Broadway in CT:

Yep! That's it!

Article that Worried Me...

Here's an article from the Chicago Show:

Donny's not even interviewed ... but Ivan mentions this:

IVAN KOUMAEV: “The tour is different because you are not on camera anymore. You do not have the chance to mess up. You have to do everything perfect; your formations have to be perfect. Everyone sees everything. There are no breaks. You cannot just be like, hold on we need to stop shooting. You keep going and going no matter what happens.
Last night is [performance in St. Louis] is a prime example. Donyelle had an accident; she fainted, and during the 15-minute intermission, we switched [around] the whole second half. And no one had a clue. There is no take two.”

Okay ... How long ago was the St. Louis show??

I just checked .. it was Sept. 21st...

Donny Worry/Donny Pic Spam!

This was posted by Farah at IDF:

Just got back from the show at NYC's MSG and it was a blast!

We stayed through the torrential downpour, lightening and thunder but it was great. We met all the dancers though it seemed Donny only stayed to meet the fans for only a little while. No one really noticed her because the hat was covering her up. She didn't stay long, maybe she wasn't feeling too well... the weather wasn't the best but when she left, it seemed mostly Benji and Heidi were running interference on her behalf.

All the dancers seemed to interact a lot more with the crowd so no one really took it too badly when Donny left a little early. I asked Heidi for a moment if Donny was feeling okay and she said Donny's just under the weather. She seemed touched and told everyone how great it was, the love and support.
It was a great experience and well worth it all.

Wow ... I hope Donyelle is alright. Here's a short picspam (from myspace and IDF) for a better Donny mood! :D

Sorry, but I just had to post more Donny on Tyra!

Yay, more Donny on Tyra!
That's it for now! :D Thanks for stopping by!

LA Show Tidbits!!

From the LA show about two weeks ago.
Posted by jazzyjaz08 on the Fox Forums:

They go to intermission and come back to do Ramalama. Again, B&D were paired. After the performance, the entire group stayed on stage. B&D were standing next to each other, but you can see that the gap between them was a bit smaller than everyone else on stage. Plus, I noticed that they were leaning in towards each other, though very subtly. You have to be looking for it, to notice it. Ryan was given the mike to talk to the audience about the SYTYCD experience. At some point, he uses the term “rest of our lives” to describe it. I was looking at B&D right at that moment through binoculars, and when Ryan used that term, they immediately turned their gazes toward each other, all the while smiling, and kept it there for a while. That was my official squee for the night….it was dumb luck that I caught that. A few more dances happen, and then Benji comes out to introduce the Viennese Waltz, but playfully says Vietnamese Waltz right after. He then said, a lot of people everywhere are asking if there is something “going on with you and Donyelle.” He pauses, while the audience reacts, and he makes the “cheeky gesture” of putting one’s pointer finger on their cheek and making like a dimple. Then he said “what I can say is I don’t know,” but he also does so while gesturing quotation marks. That was very interesting to me. As he said this, he was smiling like the cat that swallowed the canary, IMO. Again, it doesn’t obliterate the romance rumors, and the fact the he said “what I can say is” and did the quote fingers, led me to think that’s just how he chooses to answer the question. His voice tone also had a small dip as he said this. To me, it sounded like someone reading something off a book. Benji then goes on to mention that they had a “spark” “chemistry” and “connection” from the very beginning. He then introduces Donyelle. Donyelle comes out in a beautiful magenta and black dress. She was absolutely stunning. People around me actually, oohed, ahhed, and gasped when she walked out. The dance looked even better now than it ever has. Benji was strong, but not intense. He kissed her hand during the performance, during that one move. Donny was absolutely radiant and was beaming the whole time. They held the final pose for about 10 seconds. The gaze didn’t have the intensity or curiosity that we’ve come to expect. Instead, it was very loving, tender, and secure. Even their holds were that way. The truly looked like a couple in love, than a couple who still weren’t sure where they are. Their lips were very, very close (binoculars) and you could see them take turns going back and forth getting closer. People around me were yelling “kiss her.” Close but no cigar. He then leads her off-stage with her arm draped around his arm. Donny comes out later and performs her solo to Beyonce’s Déjà vu. She killed it. Afterwards, she sits on the chair on stage, and begins to introduce Heidi and Benji for the Black Mambo. We all know how this goes, but what stuck out was when she introduced them as “Heidi and, my partner, Benji.” Emphasis was on the word, “my.” And you all know about the funny thing with little Donny hauling that big azz chair on her own. What Rachel forgot to mention, was that a guy came out to do that for her, but not only was she stronger…she was faster than him too. LOL. The top 10 later comes out to do the Disco Routine. Benji and Donny were paired, again. Lots of chemistry, smiles and eye contact. And…I caught a little booty tap, btw.
My general observation: There is definitely something between them…but the definition is unclear. Their “shippiness” has become more private, from my observation. It’s definitely there, but more subtle; almost like a well kept private secret. I won’t say that they are/are not official. Their “relationship” has multiple layers, so it’s really hard to make a call either way, just as an observer. I will say that with B’s feeling so strong and obvious, I doubt either of them would be comfortable just being around each other if she wasn’t reciprocating. They were very much at peace with wherever they are “right now.” Also, I saw for myself that Donny is showing all the signs of a woman who is happy and in love. She is positively radiant these days. She is not the same woman that we saw at the finale. She’s also been overt in her “on stage” flirtation with Benji. Tour or no tour, I would think that putting on a show like that would be impossible to do, if she has no romantic feelings for Benji at all. She wouldn’t be able to pull it off, knowing that those actions could be hurtful for Benji, because it toys with his genuine affections. Having seen the tour and seeing B&D interact live; there is no doubt in my mind that they are exploring the possibilities of a romantic relationship of the committed and permanent type, even though their current official stance is undeclared. Unless they marry other people, my shipping heart will sail on.
Thanks Jazzyjaz08!!! :D

The Tour in Buffalo

Mishelly88 on Fox Forums posted this:
The Buffalo Show Okay ladies, I am still in absolute and complete shock that I just saw Benji and Donyelle live and met them in person, so forgive me if I seem to make no sense at all! So I decided pretty late yesterday that I would try to get a ticket for Buffalo and managed to get one at the last moment. Long story short - I ended up missing the beginning of the show :( I missed TMB and the tango intro which made me ridiculously sad. The show itself was amazing, but I am mainly going to give you my observations on Benjelle - of course . Benji's solo left me drooling. That man is hotter than words can describe. And when he ripped his shirt off at the end. WOW. He exuded confidence and sex appeal. It was cute though cause he looked so proud of himself and was just drinking in the audience reaction. Loved it. Donny's solo was very sexy. She commanded that stage and it was impossible to take your eyes off of her. I screamed "Go Donny" at the end of her solo, she laughed and just stood there with a big grin on her face. Her intro to Benji and Heidi was also fantastic. The crowd loved it and she was so entertaining. Love her! Okay so the VFW left me close to tears. It was honestly (and I might be slightly biased here) the most beautiful performance of the night. They just seemed to be really enjoying the dance and each other. Even though I've watched that dance sooo many times, seeing it live left me absolutely speechless. I can't remember the intro too well but my friend recorded it so I should have the exact words that were used later. It's funny because everyone was screaming when he said the "What's going on with you and Donyelle?" part of the speech, but at the "I don't know" there was almost no reaction. It was like everybody was thinking "Yeah right - you know what's up, Benji stop lying!". Well that's what I was thinking lol. The shippiest moment of the VFW for me was during the ending pose - it was sooo romantic. It was very similar to the pose we saw in Jacquelyn's video. However, I did notice that as he cradled her face he lovingly stroked her face over and over again while they stared at each other. They stayed in that position for what seemed quite a long time. The vibe between them was very intense. Once they finished their bows, they looked at each other and she gave a cute little shrug with her shoulders and they both smiled. Then they held hands for again a very long time until the lights went down, they walked off holding hands. Unfortunately I only got to see Benjelle dance together during Chicago. Jaymz danced for Benji in the disco - by the way he almost dropped Donyelle at one point so I had to restrain myself from running on stage to slap him. Jessica danced for Donny in Ramalama - I love that dance but just not as impressive without Donyelle IMO. Sexy Back was incredible! At one point they turn around to face each other during the dance and I swear they were so close together I was hoping their lips would somehow collide but unfortunately that did not happen. Benjelle's Broadway was so much fun!! I know I said it before but they honestly look like they were having the most fun on stage together, definitely more than any other pair. Benji slapped Donyelle's booty not once but twice during that dance. I could not stop smiling!! She just looked at him and gave him a flirty smile and laugh. Only Benjelle could make that routine look sexy lol. When the routine ended they turned to each other, smiled, and then hugged each other for a while - it was very cute. At the end they all came back out for their final Broadway dance and it was great. However I did not appreciate Natalie grabbing Benji by the tie and leading him off stage while Benji kind of dry-humped her all the way off the stage. That was just not necessary in my shippy world. But they all just looked really playful with each other and like they were having fun with each other, Travis slapped Benji on the butt a couple times. So I didn't take any of that too seriously. Then there was the meet and greet. I only had to wait about 20 to 25 minutes before Jessica came out. Then it was Travis who is really cute in person but definitely seemed to be all business. Then Benji came out and started signing autographs on the opposite side of the line. Benji and Travis met up in the middle and were goofing and joking around with each other for a little bit, it was cute. Then Donny came out and I almost lost my voice because I kept screaming for her. Benji had his head down so he didn't know she was walking by him until the fans started screaming for her. As soon as we started screaming her name his face lit up and he got this huge smile on his face. He kept his head down and continued to sign autographs but it was so cute to me how much his face changed when he heard her name. Donyelle is hands down the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. And as every one has already stated she is absolutely tiny. She started signing autographs right in front of me and I got to hear the Donny laugh a few times. I am in love with the Donny laugh. She is so sweet and seemed to really really care about the fans. She kept having to warn people not to push and promised that everyone would get an autograph and picture. I got to speak to her and when she looked at me I think I almost passed out. I asked her if she wanted to perform on Broadway and she thought about it for a little bit and then said "Not right now". I got super excited because I noticed Benji and Donyelle were heading towards each other while signing autographs and knew at some point they would have to cross paths, so I was on high alert. But Donyelle walked by Benji with no interaction taking place. He had his back to her and was talking to a couple of fans so she might not have wanted to disturb him. She looked like she was doing her best to avoid him and not touch him. It was very odd. So then Benji came over to me and again I almost started drooling. He is kind of a mixture of hot and cute which is very hard to find. And he is a major sweetheart. Again I was kind of in shock because the fabulous Benji Schwimmer was standing within feet of me, so I just kept staring at him with my mouth slightly opened - super embarassing. I managed to calm down enough to get his autograph but when we made eye contact I honestly felt like we were the only ones around. When he looks at you - he really looks at you. He managed to make me melt with one look, so I've said it before and I'll say it again, Donyelle did not and does not stand a chance against the Benji charm. I stuck around a little bit more to see if I could get any more Benjelle interaction. At one point they were standing right next to each other again - still no acknowledgement of one another. So I yelled out "Go Benjelle", they both continued signing autographs but Benji had a little smile on his face, Donny however had her game face on - no clues from her. Then Benji had to walk by Donyelle again, the gates were pretty close to the bus and it was kind of a tight fit. Her back was facing him, and I swear he got way closer to her than he needed to while he was walking by, IMO. So that was it. The vibe that I got from the two of them was very different. It felt like I was observing two people in an undercover relationship that were doing anything and everything possible to avoid each other. I definitely sensed a tension between them that had NOTHING to do with friendship. I mean Travis and Benji walked by each other once and were goofing around and acting silly with each other. Donyelle and Benji pass by each other twice and were right beside each other while doing autographs for quite a while and there was absolutely no interaction. No eye contact. Just a little booty to Benji contact when he squeezed by her. And those are my thoughts, any questions? Rogue's thoughts: I've seen this happen during one of the tapings -- Benji and Donyelle deliberately avoiding each other. No contact, no acknowledgement whatsoever. It's really really really weird. Anyways, What do ya'll think? DISCUSS. *** Posted by CoolRJ on the FOX boards: ((what was on your shirt?)) I had it custom made. It has a black background...jersey style, v-neck, w/strips on the sleeves...okay the important part...The front said "I (big read heart) Benjelle" in white letters. Now the back said "The Shrine" (on the first line) "CTB" (on the second line) again in white letters....this brings me to my favorite moment(s) of the nite. ((Favorite moment, benjellian or nonbenjeliian...doesn't matter....)) I have to tell you that there were some moments that were priceless. After the show, the cast did come out and greet the fans that waited. Some other fans said that there were maybe 20-30 people waiting outside after their shows...HA! Not a Buffalo...try a couple of 100 in a tight space right next to the busses. Anyway, Jessica came out first and then Jamyz...they danced a bit in the show too. Got pics of them...but not with them. Travis whizzed by really fast at first (he's sooooo short...barely saw him at first) and went inside bus for a minute I think. He came back down the line a bit later...much more slowly...signed autographs...acted really friendly and silly and cute and bantered back and forth with fans...got pics of him...but not with him. THEN!! (SWOOOOONING...who's gonna catch me if I fall?) The Benjster came out. I saw the spiky hair first. He was signing autographs and being really smiley and friendly and silly as you would expect him to be. Some of the fans were asking him questions and he would answer. Somebody asked a Benjelle question (sorry couldn't hear the question) but I can tell you that he kinda smiled without looking up and stooped a bit and backed away slightly...okay speaking of "body language" it was kinda saying...ohhhh...lovely topic but can't talk about it. His response--actual words were--"oh...Donyelle...I can't really answer that." So use that to swoon or take it with a grain of salt...but umph. Anyway, I took a lot of pics of him up close but had not honed my "move-out-the-way-i'm-in-love-with-this-person" assertiveness skills yet...so I did not take a picture WITH him. HOWEVER!! I got his attention. I said, "Benji, Benji!" (And, those smiling, beautiful blue eyes looked me dead in the eye...okay...I picked my heart up off the floor...overcame the feeling of losing consciousness and said..."Benji, I want you to know that I bought me ticket to see you and Donyelle." He stopped autographing...maintaining eye contact the whole time. His eyes switched from "hey...cool...lots of cute, adoring fans" to this really kind "wow, that really touched me" kind of look. He said, "Oh that's so sweet. Thank you!" And I said, "AND, I have on the shirt..." and pointed to the "I heart Benjelle" He leaned back and pointed toward me and exclaimed, 'I LOVE THAT!!' So I TOTALLY had a special Benji moment for however many seconds that lasted. He was not signing anybody's autographs the whole time...just totally focused on me in that moment even though there were probably 4 or 5 people in front of me. Okay...I need to take a breath and fan myself for a moment. BTW, do ya'll know that he rips his shirt off during his solo? (sucks in quick breath of air at that memory) Okay...I digress.

Pics from Tyra Show

Just got these from the IDF thread:

That's it for now!!! :D

Two Articles

Hey! Here are two SYTYCD articles .. enjoy: http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/entertainment/1159
(There are three pages by the way). And here's what Donny said in an article:
DONYELLE JONES, 26 Hometown Studio City, CA Training Hip hop and jazz, some ballet, modern, tap, and musical theater. Hardest genre? When I was learning the cha-cha, Dmitry [Chaplin] was helping me practice and he'd be like, "No, no, you're doing salsa arms! It's different for cha-cha." Nerves: I start freaking out when they call my name, and then for the first 10 seconds I feel like I'm going to throw up. How do you deal with the pressure? I pray a lot, like 20-30 times a day. Toughest moment? Mia wanted to send me home after Vegas. Rough spot: I lost five to seven jobs last year because of my weight, and I lost my motivation. I hadn't danced for five months before I auditioned for the show. The Vegas audition gave me the push I needed to get back in class. Advice: If you're going to do it, don't do it halfway.
We love you, Donyelle! :D
